American dream. Since the last quarter of the twentieth century, America became a beacon for people from all over the world, seeking work, safety, security freedom, the right to freely practice and preserve their own customs and beliefs. The arrival of the huge numbers of immigrants to the United States made it an universal nation because these immigrants traveled from all parts of the world, bringing with them different languages, customs, and traditions. In addition, the arrival of that waves of immigrants participated greatly in the development American economy. Most of them came to America without their family, and they have to face all the difficulties alone, despite all this, they work very hard doing jobs that not a lot of people do and they pay taxes, by doing these things they contribute to the economy.
Today the things are changed, and immigration became a blamed issue. The September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks changed the directions and the views toward immigrants. Many American who were themselves immigrants in the origin, look at new immigrants as devils. They look at them as assassins who came to plot against America and betray their ideals. Unfortunately, Muslim immigrants became at the top-ten of most detested among immigrants, for one reason that the assassins who are involved in the terrorist attacks against America were Muslims. let me say that, they really gave bad image about Muslim people.
Once again, many people who were themselves immigrants feel that, they should close the door against new immigrants. May be their feeling came as a reaction of that, immigration is becoming out of control, so that we have to act seriously toward this issue. May be they are right. The fingers of accusation is directed toward immigration and the huge number of immigrants as a warning to American environment aspects. But the question that pose itself is that. Is immigration really out of control? I don't think so. American government is able to manage and regulate immigration issue by restricting control on borders and diminishing the number of immigrants, but it still treat it with less serious especially about what it concern illegal immigration. American immigration policy today is changed than ever before. For instance, today's American immigration policy is based on attracting immigrant with skills. For example, all the new immigrants who came to America by lottery in 2010 must have as least high school diploma to be admitted. In addition, since the conditions of immigrating to America is based on attracting skills the numbers of immigrants is diminished as a result.
Finally, however, American Dream is no more existed, America is remain a country of immigrants, and it will stay a beacon of people from all arround the world. I'm optimistic, With the new immigration policies the future of the country of immigrant will be good.

My immigration experience
My immigration experience started last year when I entered American borders for the first time in my life. It is really useful experience in my life, because by immigrating you increase your chances of getting better life. Being in foreign country, such as America made me in contact with people from all over the world, holding with them different languages and different cultures. In deed, when I just arrived to America I have faced whit some difficulties that shaped a part of my immigration experience, such as language problem, the need of job and some one to guide me.
Most immigrant face such these difficulties, when they just arrive to USA. Despite, I took some English classes in my country, I found my self faced with communication problem with American people. The pronunciation is different from that I took in Moroccan schools, because we are adopting British English in our schools. But language problem didn't discourage me.In contrast, taking English classes was among my first priorities after finding job. I believe that English language is the key of success in America.

Secondly, the major problem that many new immigrant face is job finding. Her in America you have to work if you did not nobody will help you except the government. In my case I was lucky to find a job two months after I arrived her. Working in Arabian restaurant was my first choice because of my lack of adequate English. In fact, working with people speak the same language as mine, and proximately the same culture, made away to be in contact with American people and ultimately delayed my English improvement. But at least that job enabled me to rely on my self.
Another important thing that made me change my view of life, and shaped part of my immigration experience is the types of jobs that we are exposed to do in America. American people are modest because they don't worry about the kind of job they do. For example, you can find very beautiful women working in restaurant, doing the cleaning, or you can also ride a taxi driven by an engineer, in slow economy. In contrast, in my country working in restaurant and doing cleaning is kind of dirty jobs and few people accept doing it. Similarly, people with high level of education don't like to work any other jobs rather than that conform their major. My experience in America learnt me that, being modest is another key of success.
My experience in America also learnt me to respect others cultures, religions and trends. America is a country of freedom, so everyone has the right to practice his religion and customs, and of course with out hurting others, in other words these right are guaranteed by the government.
Finally, my immigration experience didn't finish yet, or just started because I still consider my self a new immigrant. But I hope to do well in my studies, and achieve my dream to be Technician on Electricity, and give a good image about my country.
